As a general education and special education teacher who is passionate about fostering growth and academic success, I specialize in both K-12 English Language Arts tutoring and college counseling. I use a dynamic approach that includes screen sharing, typing out a student's thought processes in real time, incorporating vibrant visuals to enhance understanding, and utilizing custom worksheets and learning activities appropriate for an online setting. This method not only showcases the student's writing capabilities but also actively involves them in the learning process.

My teaching approach is highly personalized, tailored to meet the student’s specific needs. At the beginning of every session, I incorporate a freewriting exercise to help the student warm up and build writing confidence without pressure. From there, I customize the lesson based on the skills that need strengthening—whether it’s reading comprehension, analytical writing, or grammar. Throughout the session, I work closely with the student, checking for understanding at every step and encouraging questions. By breaking down concepts clearly and adapting in real time, I ensure that the student not only stays engaged but also feels supported in their learning process.

In addition to K-12 ELA tutoring, I offer comprehensive college counseling services. Drawing upon my expertise in academia and counseling, I guide students through the complex undergraduate and graduate school application processes, offering support in crafting compelling essays, choosing prospective schools, and navigating admissions requirements. My goal is to empower students to confidently pursue their academic and career aspirations.

Whether you're seeking assistance with developing K-12 ELA skills or navigating the path to higher education, I am committed to providing personalized support tailored to your unique needs and goals. I am so excited for us to work together!

Education has always been the center of my life. In 2022, I received my B.A. from Cornell University and graduated Magna Cum Laude. In 2024, I received my M.A. from Columbia University while also teaching both general and special education students in NYC public schools. During my time at Cornell, I wrote various essays for scholarship applications, internship applications, and graduate school applications. I am a strong writer, as well as a strong teacher.

Grammar

I graduated from Cornell University in May 2022 and double majored in Literatures in English and Feminist, Gender, & Sexuality Studies. As such, I have read hundreds of classic novels and academic essays and have written just as many pieces, ranging from analytical to narrative to creative. I specifically graduated Magna Cum Laude for my year-long research on children’s media; my research required me to read and analyze numerous books and essays written by experts in the fields of digital media and K-12 education. I plan to publish my research in an academic journal.
