I understand the difficulties that many have with math and the negative disposition towards it. I enjoy math a lot! I believe it is necessary and can be fun. Accordingly, I use relevant examples and analogies to help my students better understand and enjoy it more.
I have over 5 years of experience teaching English as a foreign language including by not limited to my experience teaching English in Japan and in Costa Rica. I believe teaching English abroad gave me a stronger grasp of the English language and grammar. Likewise, my experience as a writer including for the Huffington Post allowed me to enjoy writing and the editing process. I enjoy helping my students better express their thoughts and ideas in academic and business-style writing.
My degree is in Spanish. In college, I studied the Spanish language, Latin American and Iberian literature, and more. Additionally, I studied abroad twice in Costa Rica where I received the highest honors among my peers in the Spanish department. During college, I tutored Spanish to college students and shortly after, became a freelance Spanish tutor and guest Spanish teacher for local charter schools in the Metro Atlanta Area.
My advice to my students is to have fun! Be comfortable with making mistakes and confident that we will correct them together. Learning should be fun, exciting, and challenging. With those ingredients, there is no growth. I am hoping to grow together with you as you become a more confident, successful, and intelligent scholar.
