My name is Benjamin and recently graduated with an undergraduate degree in Mathematics with Actuarial Track and in Economics. In elementary school, mathematics initially seemed so mysterious and intimidating, but I quickly found it be challenging and interesting. My high school calculus teacher really helped me understand the keys to teaching and learning. Her lectures were truly inviting and she always displayed an enthusiastic and positive environment, which encouraged me to pursue a mathematics career.
I've tutored students K through 12 at a math-only learning center as well as college students on my own. Subjects include algebra, geometry, trigonometry, statistics, pre-calculus and calculus. I develop approaches for students to break down problems in order to better understand the work and demystify any complexities. For younger students, I provide comprehensive progress reports that are shared parents / guardians. In all cases, I maintain a positive and motivating environment to keep the sessions engaging.
Students have different learning style and one size does not fit all. I will tailor a learning plan to it the unique needs of the student and will bring the same enthusiasm that has motivated me in mathematics. Mathematics doesn't need to be so hard - let me help you develop a plan and an approach to help you succeed!
