Hi everyone!! I have experience teaching from both high school and college, when I volunteered as a middle school tutor. I have done these programs online and in-person, so I feel I am prepared to work with students in a number of settings. I also ran a tutoring program at my college, with which I have gained experience in tutoring as well as in designing curriculum. I am great with students of all ages, and understand the stress of being a pre-medical student since I was one myself. I am from Little Rock, Arkansas, attended school at the University of Virginia on a merit-based scholarship, and am now a medical student at NYU.

I was a Biology major at the University of Virginia, where I took multiples semesters of Biology, Chemistry, and Organic Chemistry. I made A's in all of my classes and studied this material a second time in preparation for the MCAT.

As a pre-medical student, I spent over 8 months studying for the MCAT. I recently received a score of 526 (Chemistry/Physics:132/CARS:131/B&B:131/PS:132), with a maximum score being 528. This score is well above the 99th percentile for all test-takers. While many other students use courses to study for the MCAT, I entirely self-studied, and thus I feel very confident in my ability to advise other students on how to do the same. Furthermore, I achieved just a 504 on my first practice test, which shows that the methods I employed in studying were extremely effective in raising my score.

I also recently took Step 2 CK, a scored board exam which all medical students must take after completing clinical rotations. I scored a 275 after studying for 8 weeks, and also raised my score significantly from an initial score of 234.

Approved Subjects

Biology

Biology

I attended the University of Virginia on a full merit-based scholarship, where I majored in Biology. With a GPA of 3.99, I excelled in my sciences classes and was able to learn this information well not only for my exams but also to score in the 99th percentile on the MCAT later on.
Chemistry

Chemistry

As a premedical student, I received a BA in Biology from the University Virginia and took many chemistry classes including laboratory, introductory lectures, Organic chemistry, and biochemistry with a 3.99 GPA. I currently attend NYU medical school.
MCAT

MCAT

As a pre-medical student, I was not able to use a prep course or company to design a study plan. Instead, I self-studied for over 8 months, took practice tests with 4 different 3rd party companies, and achieved a stellar MCAT score (526). I have kept all of my MCAT resources and feel confident that I will be able to help any student achieve their full potential. I retained much of the information I learned in the classes required for the MCAT, and feel confident in my ability to explain concepts pertaining to all subjects tested on the MCAT.
Pharmacology

Pharmacology

I am a medical student at NYU. I have studied physiology, clinical medicine, and pharmacology while in my clinical and pre-clinical years of medical school. I also have studied biology, biochemistry, chemistry and more while at the University of Virginia where I completed a BA in biology with a 3.99 GPA.
Psychology

Psychology

My name is Maya Hatley and I am a 3rd year medical student. I completed degrees in Biology and Psychology while at the University of Virginia. I finished college with a science GPA of 3.99 and excelled in my biology and psychology classes. I added psychology as a second degree because I had a passion for it. I took a diverse array of psychology, statistics, and experimental design classes which included Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, and more.
USMLE

USMLE

I also recently took Step 2 CK, a scored board exam which all medical students must take after completing clinical rotations. I scored a 275 after studying for 8 weeks, and also raised my score significantly from an initial score of 234. 275 is 99th percentile for this test. I used a variety of strategies including question bank materials and flashcards.
