I’m Daniel, student at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine, Yale double BA with honors + summa cum laude '23 and valedictorian of Hunter College High School '19. I have a passion for learning and try to pass that on to my students—trying to enliven the teaching experience with surprising, thought-provoking, or beautiful questions. I work in a variety of subjects, in both typical school and test prep and also academic competitions.

My academic record shows my ability to master material in a wide variety of subjects and contexts, necessarily using a variety of methods. This academic record includes, among other awards, two US National Geography Team selections, lead scoring for Yale's 2023 national undergraduate champion quiz bowl team, getting second in the world in International History Olympiad, a perfect score on the AP Latin exam, and captaining my high school math team while getting in the top 1% of scores nationally on the AMC and a 10/15 score on the AIME. Using all the passion, knowledge, and techniques I’ve gained through my own learning, I can draw connections between subjects to promote deeper understanding and more easily model my methods to the individual student.

My past tutoring experience has also been quite varied, allowing me to teach a variety of students in various settings. I have tutored one-on-one with a high school student in all subjects at the Star Learning Center, a volunteer organization serving underserved students, and I was a teaching fellow for my high school’s Geometry class, winning the school’s Faculty Teaching Award.

Contact me for more information! I’m here for you, the student, so I will incorporate into my tutoring whatever particulars you desire for your specific case.

Knowledgeable and patient tutor

Daniel has done a phenomenal job of efficiently explaining concepts. He is incredibly patient and kind, which has helped facilitate an incredibly comfortable learning environment for me (the student). He consistently asks if he needs to clarify anything, he is more than willing to go over concepts multiple times, and due to his kind nature, I never feel uncomfortable asking questions. I will absolutely continue learning from him in the future, and I would definitely recommend!
