I am a native of New York City but was raised primarily in the United Kingdom and Continental Europe, because of family background. I am fluent in several European languages and can tutor all of these readily. Because I was initially schooled in the U.K. until high school, then in the U.S. for the latter and university, and finally graduate work back in the U.K., I have a broad base of educational exposure and and learning from both systems. My strongest areas are in the Humanities, as well as ESL/TOEFL, and the following test preps: PSAT, SAT, ACT, GRE. I am also certified by the City/State of New York to teach in the public school system, have taught there, but prefer to tutor students one-on-one or in small groups. I firmly believe that tutoring exists to fill in the gaps sometimes created by overly large classes and insufficient time spent in certain areas that some students need more help to master.
