Hi! I'm a current student at McGill University studying International Development and Economics, and I currently have a 4.0 GPA. I have a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, writing, and social sciences.
I've spent the past few years formally tutoring high school and middle school students one-on-one in subjects such as economics, statistics, essay writing, and social studies. My approach involves clear explanations, structured practices, and personalized support. What I lack in credentials, I make up for in effort. I always try to provide additional material, be it through creating my own problem sets, essay outlines, or review sheets, to help students strengthen their understanding and confidence in the material in the long run.
For example, in algebra, I find it important to draw diagrams to show how abstract concepts can be made concrete, such as illustrating the functions. In history or social studies, I think that a cause-and-effect relationship is far more pertinent in the exam setting for memorizing events and chronology. And in English, I always focus on organization, argument development, and clarity in writing to refine essays within their own style.
I find that the most important learning environment is one where students aren't afraid to ask questions, and I try to foster that through a comfortable and encouraging learning environment. I want students to feel supported in asking questions and thinking critically.
