I’m an NYC-based tutor with a BA in Economics from Howard University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. I’ve supported students from elementary school through college in reading, writing/ELA, and foundational math. At Howard, I tutored student-athletes in writing across humanities and social science courses, and I spent six years as a K–12 tutor focused on reading, composition, and math fundamentals. Earlier, I worked as a summer arts camp counselor responsible for daily supervision, creativity-forward programming, and positive behavior modeling for elementary-aged kids.

My approach blends a quick diagnostic to pinpoint gaps, clear weekly goals, and scaffolded lessons that build skills step by step. For writing, I coach the full process—prompt unpacking, outlining, evidence and analysis, and revision for clarity and grammar. For reading, I teach active-reading and annotation strategies that raise comprehension and speed. I also integrate executive-function supports (planning, note-taking, test prep habits) so students leave with a repeatable system, not just completed homework.

I’ve taught in one-on-one and small-group settings and am comfortable adjusting tone and pace for middle school, high school, and college learners. I’ve completed New York State DOE trainings (Child Abuse Identification, School Violence Prevention, DASA, Autism) and standard background check/fingerprinting.
