I’m an NYC-based tutor with a BA in Economics from Howard University and an MBA from Columbia Business School. I’ve supported students from elementary school through college in reading, writing/ELA, and foundational math. At Howard, I tutored student-athletes in writing across humanities and social science courses, and I spent six years as a K–12 tutor focused on reading, composition, and math fundamentals. Earlier, I worked as a summer arts camp counselor responsible for daily supervision, creativity-forward programming, and positive behavior modeling for elementary-aged kids.

My approach blends a quick diagnostic to pinpoint gaps, clear weekly goals, and scaffolded lessons that build skills step by step. For writing, I coach the full process—prompt unpacking, outlining, evidence and analysis, and revision for clarity and grammar. For reading, I teach active-reading and annotation strategies that raise comprehension and speed. I also integrate executive-function supports (planning, note-taking, test prep habits) so students leave with a repeatable system, not just completed homework.

I’ve taught in one-on-one and small-group settings and am comfortable adjusting tone and pace for middle school, high school, and college learners. I’ve completed New York State DOE trainings (Child Abuse Identification, School Violence Prevention, DASA, Autism) and standard background check/fingerprinting. Sessions are available online or in person in NYC. Share a recent assignment or syllabus, and I’ll map a plan to help you see progress within the first few weeks.

Approved Subjects

African American Studies

African American Studies

I completed an African American Studies course at Howard University (earned an A) alongside my BA in Economics, and later earned an MBA from Columbia. As a former writing tutor in Howard’s Athletics Department, I coach close reading of primary/secondary sources and turn insights into clear, evidence-based essays. Sessions focus on thesis development, structured outlines, drafting/revision, and citations (MLA/Chicago), plus targeted study plans for quizzes and exams. I support high school and college learners in AAS, U.S. history, and related humanities courses, tailored to your syllabus and rubric.
Business

Business

I hold an MBA in Finance & Entrepreneurship from Columbia and a BA in Economics from Howard, with professional experience in venture capital, product, and growth. I tutor business fundamentals, including accounting, corporate finance, strategy, marketing, and Excel/financial modeling, using clear frameworks and worked examples tied to your syllabus or case. Sessions start with a quick diagnostic and translate concepts into step-by-step problem solving, with checkpoints and targeted practice so skills stick. I’ve supported undergrads, MBAs, and working professionals 1:1 and in small groups on coursework, case prep, and presentations.
Classics

Classics

I studied Latin from 6th–12th grade and, while I didn’t retain fluent translation skills, I developed a deep grounding in Greco-Roman history, literature, and mythology through a prep-school curriculum that integrated Classics across subjects. I tutor students taking Classical Civilization, Mythology, or Latin-in-translation, focusing on close reading, thematic analysis, and clear, evidence-based essays. I connect texts to historical context- politics, religion, art/architecture - so characters, motifs, and timelines stick. I also prepare students for the history/myth portions of the National Latin Exam and support related humanities projects and presentations.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I’m a Columbia MBA with a BA in Economics from Howard University and a former writing tutor in Howard’s Athletics Department. There, I coached student-athletes on essays for writing-intensive courses - strengthening thesis statements, structure, evidence/analysis, and revision. My approach is process-driven: we unpack the prompt, outline, draft, and polish for clarity, voice, and grammar, with reusable checklists and templates. I support middle school, high school, college, and MBA applicants on class papers, research essays, personal statements, and scholarship applications in 1:1 or small-group settings.

Interview Prep

Interview Prep

I’m a Columbia MBA (Finance & Entrepreneurship) with a BA in Economics from Howard and professional experience in venture, product, and growth—so I prep candidates for tech, VC, and startup interviews with a practical, hiring-manager lens. We’ll build a tight story bank (STAR/CEAR), sharpen your pitch, and map your experiences to role scorecards so answers land with evidence and impact. I run realistic mocks—behavioral, case/strategy, product sense, and presentations—with timed feedback on structure, quantitative support, and executive presence (voice, pacing, follow-ups). I also help with pre-work (company research, 30-60-90s), post-interview notes, and compensation/offer strategy, tailored to your target role and timeline.
Machine Learning/ AI

Machine Learning/ AI

I’m a Columbia MBA and product operator who teaches AI without code: clear LLM fundamentals in plain English, practical prompt design, and “vibe coding” (fast, structured trial-and-error to get results). I help non-technical learners build real workflows, research summarizers, writing coaches, and idea evaluators, using accessible tools (no notebooks required). You’ll learn reusable frameworks for system prompts, few-shot examples, evaluation rubrics, and data-privacy best practices so outputs are reliable and safe. Every session starts from your use case and ends with a simple template you can reuse and improve over time.
Marketing

Marketing

I’m a Columbia MBA and hands-on marketer who has built brands from scratch and led social/content strategy for tech startups. I coach marketing fundamentals, positioning, ICP, content pillars, social and email campaigns, and turn them into weekly plans with copy templates and simple analytics you can actually use. My newsletter averages ~30% opens and ~16% clicks; I teach the systems behind those results: audience research, strong hooks, creative iteration, and measurement. I support high school/college coursework and real projects for founders and creators, with or without design tools.
MBA

MBA

I hold an MBA in Finance & Entrepreneurship from Columbia Business School and a BA in Economics from Howard University. I support MBA and pre-MBA students with core courses—accounting fundamentals, corporate finance, statistics, strategy, and marketing—plus case write-ups and Excel/financial modeling grounded in real VC/product work. My approach is practical and structured: we start with a quick diagnostic, then build a plan with worked examples and checkpoints tailored to your syllabus or application timeline. I also coach admissions materials (story framing, essays, resume polish, interview prep) for applicants targeting top programs.
Microsoft Outlook

Microsoft Outlook

I’ve used Outlook extensively at Columbia Business School and while contracting for the federal government, so I teach practical, compliance-minded workflows on both desktop and web. We’ll set up a fast triage system, including categories vs. folders, rules, Quick Steps, search operators, and pinned/flagged items, to help you keep your inbox at zero. I also coach calendar mastery, including scheduling across time zones, managing shared/delegated calendars, utilizing meeting polls, and implementing follow-up loops to prevent dropped balls. Each session is hands-on and tailored to your role, with reusable templates for emails, meeting notes, and reminders.
Thesis Writing

Thesis Writing

I’m a Columbia MBA (Finance & Entrepreneurship) with a BA in Economics from Howard, and I’ve written both investment theses (VC memos, market analyses) and academic theses. I coach the full process, shaping the research question, building a defensible argument, and structuring sections (literature review, methods, results, discussion) with clear claim-evidence-reasoning. We’ll set repeatable workflows for sources and citations (APA/Chicago/MLA), integrating qualitative or quantitative data, and revising against your rubric. I support undergraduate, graduate, and professional projects and help translate complex analysis into crisp, persuasive writing.
United States History

United States History

I scored 790 on the U.S. History SAT II and tutor AP U.S. History (APUSH) and college survey courses. I focus on turning primary-source analysis into high-scoring DBQ/LEQ/SAQ essays with clear thesis, contextualization, and evidence-analysis per the rubrics. We build timelines and thematic maps (periodization, causation, continuity/change) to lock in dates and big ideas, then drill past prompts under realistic timing. I also support research papers and citations (Chicago/MLA) and create targeted study plans aligned to your syllabus.
