My name is Eric, and I graduated magna cum laude from the University of California, San Diego with a B.S. in Marine Biology. Since then, I have pivoted into the biomedical sciences and currently work as a researcher in a microbiome lab in New York City. My academic path has given me a strong foundation in biology, chemistry, and related STEM fields, and I enjoy sharing this knowledge with students who are eager to grow in their studies.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, I had the opportunity to teach elementary and high school students about basic biology concepts. Since many traditional teaching methods were limited at that time, I focused on making lessons interactive by using tools such as polls, breakout rooms, and real-time reactions to keep students engaged. This experience taught me the importance of adapting to different learning environments and reinforced my ability to communicate complex scientific ideas in clear, accessible ways.
As a tutor, I take a patient and student-centered approach. I believe every learner benefits from a mix of structure and flexibility, so I tailor my methods to match each student’s needs and goals. Whether that means breaking down challenging concepts step by step, working through practice problems, or connecting lessons to real-world examples, I aim to create a supportive environment where students build confidence as well as understanding. Above all, my goal is to help students not only improve their performance but also develop curiosity and enthusiasm for learning
