Hello, my name is Louise and I am an undergraduate student at the University of Cambridge studying history and politics. I am looking to tutor students of any age in humanities subjects, specifically history or English Literature. I graduated with a 4.0 gpa from the Brearley School, which I attended for the 9th, 11th, and 12th grades, while during 10th grade I was living in the UK.

During my time in the UK I achieved straight 9s (the highest score) in my GCSE's although I missed the first year of preparation. Because of this, half of the content was self-taught, and despite this I was able to achieve top marks in my exams.
In order to get into Cambridge I had to achieve 5s in at least 5 AP's, however, my school in New York didn't offer AP courses. Therefore, I self-taught myself the content for US History, European History, World History, English Literature, English Language, and German Language and Culture (which I already had some background in) and achieved a 5 in each exam.
Right now I am a student in what is considered by some to be the best history undergraduate program in the world. I have a very extensive background when it comes to humanities knowledge and my experience having to teach myself so many different curriculums has meant that I am very good at turning large amounts of content into manageable, yet comprehensive sections, and quickly becoming familiar with the way that a certain testing program works.
I have experience tutoring my little sister, who is eight years younger, during the covid pandemic, and I also worked as a camp counsellor where I lead classes and activities for children ages 5-11. Because of this, my experience largely lies with younger children, and I like to take a very activity-based approach when teaching younger students. However, I have a lot of experience and knowledge when it comes to AP and SAT curriculums, and so am well prepared to teach older students, as I spent most of my time ages 14-18 teaching myself these courses.
