I earned my B.A. magna cum laude from Middlebury College in 2024, majoring in computer science with a minor in music, while competing for four years on the NCAA Division three volleyball team. In high school, I tutored peers in math, from algebra to pre calculus, and Spanish, which I studied through two 300-level college semesters. I tutored my college peers in writing, offering both technical and developmental feedback, and I now work freelance in book publishing, offering editorial feedback on manuscripts. During the COVID lockdown, I coached my brother, who is eight years younger than me, in volleyball and taught him guitar, and now that he is in high school, I regularly tutor him in Algebra 2, Spanish, and writing. I was a summer camp counselor in 2021, living in a cabin with 7-year-old boys and coaching 7 to 16 year old boys every day in volleyball, and I coached 3- to 14-year-old kids at a soccer camp in 2023.
Across academics, athletics, and the arts, my teaching style is founded in positive support and encouragement. Instead of supplying students with answers, I ask them leading questions that allow them to use what they already know to reach a solution to a problem, encouraging them to grow confidence in their own abilities. I try my best to be as approachable as possible so that students will feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes, which are instrumental parts of learning.
