Hi! I’m Yaerin, a Pediatrics resident in the Research Track at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. I graduated from Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and completed a dedicated research year at NYU Langone, where I worked on clinical trials and longitudinal patient coordination.
Before medical school, I earned my B.A. in Biology with a specialization in Endocrinology from University of Chicago, where I was part of the Bucksbaum Institute for Clinical Excellence. I then spent two gap years at Massachusetts General Hospital conducting research in Type 1 diabetes.
Across these stages, I’ve worked closely with students at every step of the medical training pipeline. I’ve helped pre-medical students navigate AMCAS applications – from personal statements, school lists, and secondary essays to letters of intent and interview preparation (traditional and MMI). I also offer support with residency applications, including ERAS personal statements, interview prep, and applications for summer fellowships and gap-year research positions.
Having gone through multiple application cycles myself and published across several clinical research projects, I’m passionate about helping applicants tell their stories clearly and effectively. My approach is tailored, collaborative, and grounded in your unique experiences. Whether you're refining your essays, preparing for interviews, or simply unsure where to start, I’d love to support you in this process and help you take the next step in your journey!
