Hi there! My name is Chi Kyu. I graduated from Cornell University in 2020 with a Bachelor's in English and a minor in Arabic. In 2024, I completed my graduate studies at University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, where I was in the MFA in Creative Writing program. Right now, I'm pursuing a MA in Clinical Psychology at Teachers College, Columbia University.

In Minneapolis, I taught an undergraduate-level course called Introduction to Creative Writing for a year. I taught around 26 students per semester, guiding them through the worlds of fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. If you're interested in literature or creative writing, I can help you, whether you want to discuss a book you read or write a story yourself! At the University of Minnesota, I was also actively involved in the MFA program's own literary magazine, Great River Review. As a Assistant Manager, then Managing Editor, I read submissions from writers and edited their work for publication. I also worked as an editorial assistant for The Open Rivers Journal at the University. The journal focuses on issues of water, people, and community, and I provided feedback for pieces of writing prior to their publication.

When it comes to writing, I think it's often more difficult to have a process in motion; we're hyper-critical of our own work that it paralyzes us or we don't know how to start writing. As a writer who has gone through those experiences, I can help you to write more effectively and meaningfully. My approach, therefore, is focused on your own vision of what you want to accomplish through our incredible ability to mold language for our use.
