Thank you for your interest in MCAT and science tutoring! I can't wait to help with your learning journey.
I recently graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Pennsylvania where I double-majored in Biology and Nutrition Science. I scored above the 99th percentile on the MCAT with a 523.
I started tutoring online during the pandemic, spending a few hours each week tutoring online at the middle- and high school levels in biology and chemistry. At Penn I continued tutoring a broad age range online, and I peer-tutored in college-level general chemistry and organic chemistry for about 200 hours.
With 5+ years of tutoring experience, I know how to tailor lessons specifically to each student's needs, and I love watching those "a-ha" moments when a concept clicks. These are some of the values I bring to my lessons:
Personalization and genuine connection: Establishing a sense of comfort and trust is essential to making a positive impact through tutoring. I enjoy getting to know my students and connecting on a personal level, which helps me identify specific needs and allows me to keep the sessions engaging.
Passion for the subject: I feel passionately about the concepts I tutor, and I hope to share that joy and appreciation with my students. I always found classes to be easier when I found them interesting, and I hope I can help my students experience this as well.
Expertise and experience: Over 5+ years, I have developed a host of strategies that help me be the best tutor possible. I always start with an open forum for questions and allow the student to lead the session, ensuring that the student gets exactly what they want out of the lesson.
I am currently working as a research associate at a New York City-based research facility while I apply to medical school. Please reach out with any questions, and I look forward to connecting!
