Reflecting on my early school years, I realized that learning from a traditional formal school often led to moments of disinterest in learning the Chinese language. But it doesn't have to be that way. Imagine if the curriculum had been more engaging and entertaining. That's why I emphasize using lively and entertaining materials in this course to spark your curiosity and make your learning experience exciting and enjoyable.

My tutoring and teaching experience began in the 1980s when I tutored some grade school students for a year with plenty of satisfaction as one of the kids in grade six took a public aptitude test and scored a performance outclassing the top one percent of what a grade 12 student could do. I also taught ESL for adults at a Chinese immigrant community service center in NYC. Then, briefly in HK, I taught English, computer applications, and economics in a commerce school.

It is a distant teaching experience for me as a trade, I am now returning from retirement and starting a new chapter of teaching Cantonese to promote HK culture as a mission.

This course is designed for individuals over 14 eager to learn Cantonese, particularly professionals considering working in HK or interacting with Cantonese-speaking individuals. It's also ideal for American-born Chinese who wish to enhance their Cantonese skills and immerse themselves in the magnificent HK culture.
