Hi - I'm Binyamin! For the past 5 years, I have tutored Hebrew Language and Jewish Studies to adults and children of diverse backgrounds, in both group and private settings. I have taught Jewish tradition and history to professionals, Talmud to a child with learning disabilities, and Hebrew and Bible to a recent immigrant from India. My most meaningful job was designing and implementing a dynamic Hebrew/Jewish Studies curriculum for a family of Dutch converts to Judaism.

By customizing lessons to the student, I make learning Hebrew enjoyable and stimulating. I take topics of interest to the student, and weave those topics into Hebrew exercises. I also emphasize modern spoken Hebrew, including idioms and slang, to enable the student to communicate effectively with Israelis. This can be a major help to someone planning on visiting or moving to Israel.

Born in Hong Kong and raised in Manhattan, I moved to Israel at age 15. My extensive international exposure allows me to connect easily with people from different backgrounds. An American-Israeli, I speak fluent English and Hebrew. Thanks in part to my service in the Israeli Paratroopers Brigade, I have an intimate understanding of Israeli society and can give interested students a window into Israeli culture and current events.

I have extensive experience in Judaic Studies, including Bible and Talmud, which I have been studying since childhood. After finishing Jewish day school and high school, I attended a 5-year program for advanced Jewish studies. I teach from very basic to advanced levels, based on a student's needs. I will help you achieve your Judaic Studies and Hebrew goals.
