I have a Master's degree from Juilliard where I majored in composition. I have been composing for over 8 years and have spent 5 years in private lessons. I have composed for many different chamber ensembles and have had 2 orchestral premieres.
Ear Training

Ear Training

I had a year of ear training in a performing arts high school, followed by 4 years of aural skill training in undergrad. I teach a systematic and gradual approach towards developing the ability to dictate music and play by ear which begins with recognizing and singing simple intervals.
Guitar

I've played guitar for 10 years and have taken lessons. I can create tabs and show students how to learn songs on guitar. I play a variety of styles. I am currently a graduate student at Mannes school of Music (The New School in NYC).

I went to a performing arts high school where I studied recording engineering and music production. I have had 8+ years experience with Reason and Pro Tools. I have had 2-4 years experience with Reaper and Digital Performer. I have recorded and mixed/mastered 3 albums. I can also assist with notation programs like Musescore and Sebelius/working with midi playback.

I have been playing the piano for 15 years and have spent 7 years total with lessons. I teach foundational skills with classical technique, but I also love to teach across genres and help students create music or improvise. I have a Bachelor's of Music.
Songwriting

I have been writing and performing songs for 10 years and have recorded 2 albums of original material. I can work with students in any genre. I have also had experience arranging music and can assist with writing parts or helping to turn ideas into written form - either through music notation or charts/tabs. I have a Bachelor's of Music from the University of North Carolina School of The Arts where I majored in composition.
