Welcome to Brian’s Writing Tutoring Service!
My tutoring approach is rooted in empowering students to discover answers while fostering a collaborative learning environment tailored to their individual pace. With a focus on effective brainstorming, content organization, grammar refinement, and smooth transitions, I'm here to transform your ideas into polished final drafts. I excel at breaking down daunting assignments into manageable sections to be later reintegrated into a complete essay. In addition to writing I offer tutoring in English, science, history, and Algebra I and II. Each tutoring session using this Socratic method concludes with actionable takeaways to ensure continuing student confidence and improvement.
I was trained at Saint Louis University Writing Services in 2018 as a college writing tutor and consultant. I am trained to use facilitative feedback while assisting college students in every aspect of writing. I have three years of experience tutoring high school students one-on-one in English, Science, Algebra, and History at Foundation House, a learning center for young men in Portland, Maine. I teach with an emphasis on organizational and time management skills.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude (3.95 GPA) with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of New Hampshire in 2023. I am beginning my Master's in Mental Health Counseling at Northeastern University in 2024.
I conducted in-depth research at the University of New Hampshire in Dr. John Mayer’s Personality Psychology Lab to measure critical thinking and its relationship with different kinds of intelligence, advancing the understanding of its role in identifying misinformation. I was awarded the Certificate of Excellence at the UNH Undergraduate Research Conference for the oral presentation of my research as a UNH undergraduate student.
