Bio

I am a fourth year medical student with a passion for teaching the sciences, especially biology, biochemistry, anatomy, physiology (my favorite!), and medicine geared towards school coursework and medical board exams (Step 1, Step 2, PANCE).

As for my academic background, I performed at a honors and high honors level for all of my medical school clerkships (with top high honors in internal medicine and a perfect score in surgery). For this academic achievement, I was inducted into Alpha Omega Alpha, awarded to the top 25% of the medical school class. Prior to this, I graduated Summa Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa with straight As in all Premed courses and a 3.98 overall GPA, which helped me gain acceptance to multiple top 10 medical schools. I credit these achievements to how I view learning. I believe anyone can learn anything and concepts should be simplified, understood, and then applied to solve questions.

My love for learning has evolved into a passion for teaching. For the past 7 years, I have been tutoring high school students, college students, and graduate students (PA, MD/DO, and nursing) in the sciences.

I am a current medical student and have been teaching biology for 6 years. In undergrad, I was a biology major and received As in all of my biology classes (including graduate level biology courses and premed courses). I also worked as a biology level 2 TA in undergrad and helped students do well in difficult biology classes. From this, I have learned how to tutor students using a variety of different approaches based on their individual needs. As a medical student, my biology knowledge is fresh, and up-to-date. I love the subject of biology and enjoy helping students master it!

Using specific test-taking strategies, I took the MCAT once and scored a 514 with a 97% score in the Chemistry/Physics section. Due to my strong background in reading comprehension and passage analysis, I consistently score 130+ in the CARS section. I also consistently score 129+ in biology/biochemistry and psychology/sociology sections. To achieve such scores, I place heavy emphasis on passage analysis and creating real-world correlations. Aided by my extensive experiencing tutoring in the sciences and English, I am excited to help students achieve 90%+ scores on the MCAT!
USMLE

USMLE

I passed Step 1 and Step 2 on first attempt with short dedicated study period. I achieved >80 percentile scores on standardized shelf exams throughout medical school. I have been tutoring medical school classmates for these standardized exams and students have been very successful working with me.
