Hello! My name is David, and I am a proud Computer Science alumnus from UMASS Amherst.

Hello! My name is David, and I am a proud Computer Science alumnus from UMASS Amherst.

Are you an undergrad in Computer Science or any program were you are learning to code? I have tutored Seniors in challenging Operating Systems courses all the way down to middle-schoolers learning to code to the first time. My specialty is providing quality instruction using visual examples, digestible lectures, and live programming.

If you are newer to programming or C.S. in general, many of my students have been freshmen who I've been able to help from their first year to the last. My favorite classes to teach are "Intro to Programming", Operating Systems, and theory courses like Algorithms.

As we work together throughout the semester, I hope to build a deep understanding of Computer Science so that you can walk into your exams with confidence. I am a very flexible and communicative tutor, so please don't be afraid to reach out with minor questions, advice, or concerns when they relate to fields like computer science, Linux or programming.

Here's a little bit of personal history with my education and the lessons I learned. During my time in college, I entered with a strong foundation in programming, thanks to AP courses and interest in programming. However, I faced a significant challenge in the form of a rigorous discrete math course, notorious for its complex proofs and less-than-stellar professors. Despite dedicating 30 hours per week to the course, I realized that seeking the right help would have made a significant difference in my learning experience and quality of life in university.

With my strong educational background, real-world experience, and adaptable teaching style, I am well-prepared to help students in their Computer Science journey. I'm also open to teaching younger pupils who are looking to learn programming for the first time, or other related math skills. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and helping others overcome challenges, just as I did during my college years.

Proficient in multiple areas of computer science, with a specific focus on lower level classes. My best subjects are: Data Structures, Operating Systems, Databases, and Networking etc. I've also had work experience managing servers, full stack, and Cloud Architecture.

I have been an open source enthusiast for many years now, and seen the benefits of using Linux as my primary operating system in my work life. Being comfortable messing with system configuration, networking an the system architecture through my personal life has allowed me to tackle complex server administration and setup tasks at work. Helped Me Survive Operating Systems

I am a student at the University of Florida who just completed COP4600 Operating Systems - the hardest computer science class I have taken. David was extremely patient and helpful with learning the concepts and helping me conceptualize the projects. I learned how to make system calls in kernel space and create my own memory manager program. I was afraid I was not going to pass this class during the beginning of the semester, but with David's help, I finished with a B. Highly recommend David as a tutor for any other university students taking Operating Systems or any C++ class. He is very knowledgeable and one of the best tutors I have ever had.

Dave helped me alot with my assignment with Java script which the professor has failed to teach in a proper way. Dave broke down each concept down so I can grasp it and more some.
