Hi! I'm Kathleen. I majored in Political Science and Education and minored in Child Development at Tufts University.

I am a certified teacher in Massachusetts.

I have experience tutoring children 1-on-1 and teaching them in a classroom environment. I care about equitable education and work hard to make sure all students feel strong and capable. I have worked with students with disabilities.

I have been a lead teacher for 4 years, and before that I was a paraprofessional in an ABA classroom. I have a wide breath of experience and am consistently seek learning opportunities. I have tutored students for hundreds of hours in different subjects.

I have extensive experience with tutoring elementary-aged students in literacy, and I also have done plenty of tutoring in essay writing, English, and math. I have access to hundreds of different books across many different age levels, and I enjoy playing word games that correlate with a student's interests and reading level. I also do reading comprehension exercises with students by finding reading passages and appropriate questions that will challenge the reader.

I have been trained in Orton Gillingham and in Morphology+.

I have taught math that includes basic arithmetic through geometry. Learning math can be lots of fun, and I like to challenge students through unique problems and personalized questions that test what they're learning. It's great to encourage students and remind them of their own abilities to solve problems in different ways!
