Bio

I've been tutoring students in math and physics for over six years. In my time as a tutor, I've come to realize that 90% of the time, tutoring is about asking the right questions. With the right questions, students can find answers on their own, and truly build their problem-solving muscles.

I started tutoring at Rockland Community College in 2014. At RCC, I tutored students across all math course offerings - from remedial math to linear algebra. Additionally, my students had vastly different background, ranging from adult learners returning to school after years in the workforce, to high school students taking additional classes in community college.

I graduated from MIT in 2019 with a Bachelor's in physics and minor in math, and TA'd 8.02, freshman E&M, for two semesters. I am currently working full-time as a physics curriculum developer, and tutor math and physics on evenings/weekends. I specialize in helping students develop clarity and mastery in physics, and excel in preparing students for the AP Physics I and AP Physics C exams.

I look forward to working with you! Please reach out with any questions you may have - I'm easy to reach, and will quickly be able to determine if I can provide the help you need.

Just Excellent!

My son was struggling with Honors Physics at Georgia Tech. After speaking with several tutors, he clicked with Esther. She was great at explaining concepts and working through problems. He ended up with an A in the class!

Excellent, smart, efficient and prepared

Esther is extremely knowledgeable, prepared, patient, and effective. She tutored my son in Pre calculus and in a short time she was able to teach him to understand and absorb a lot of concepts that he had previously struggled to grasp. She is calm, professional, positive and extremely capable. I Highly recommend her!

Thalia, 8 lessons with Esther

Knowledgable

She covered some advanced and complex physics topics by clarifying every concept in the context of the problem. Highly recommend her for Physics. She is sharp.

Very patient and good at explaining the topic

I was struggling with how to construct an integral for an electric field problem in physics CE&M, but Esther helped a lot with me understanding the concept better. She is patient, always accepts any questions, and is very concise with her teaching.

Very responsive and knew how to help

Esther helped my daughter in physics and I’m very thankful. This was our first experience with a tutor through Wyzant. She was recommended to us by my sister-in-law in another state. My daughter was reluctant to use a tutor but after this first try, my daughter admitted that Esther was very helpful. We are looking forward to calling upon her again soon!

Esther is an awesome teacher!

My son took lessons with Esther when he was a sophomore for AP Physics B. He started lessons in the middle of the school year. His understanding of AP physics B when he started was not that great. He ended up getting a 5/5 in his AP exams. More than anything he developed a love for physics and wants to take AP Physics C in his junior year. We recommend Esther for anyone who wants to develop their interest in Physics and get a deep understanding as well as wanting to navigate challenges with the subject

The Best of the Best

Esther is the most amazing tutor EVER! She tutored me for calculus. She was very very supportive and always here to help. She scheduled sessions with me with less than a few hours notice sometimes if I really needed it. She helped me come up with custom plans to achieve my goals in the class and really learn as much as I can. She truly is the best of the best.

Linear Algebra and Probability Tutor

Esther supported me when I was taking Linear Algebra and Probability. She is very knowledgable and tailors her teaching to meet the needs of the student. Esther is also someone who makes the lessons fun and interesting, always ensuring that you leave feeling confident with the material

Esther is great!

My daughter has been working with Esther for a few months. She started with a very shaky base knowledge and after working with Esther is much more confident after earning A's on her exams.
