About Elynn

Bio

I have more than 25 years of experience with teaching and tutoring English, ESL, and ESOL to students of all ages and levels. I also maintain certification to teach High School English. With a Masters in Education from Boston College, I've taught in many different settings (including Bunker Hill Community College, Emerson College, and Cambridge and Brookline Centers for Adult Education).

I have more than 25 years of experience with teaching and tutoring English, ESL, and ESOL to students of all ages and levels. I also maintain certification to teach High School English. With a Masters in Education from Boston College, I've taught in many different settings (including Bunker Hill Community College, Emerson College, and Cambridge and Brookline Centers for Adult Education).

Also, I have tutored privately. I have helped people with practical skills such as applying to college, writing essays, and developing fun ways to study.

I'm a creative and highly motivated person. My approach is to offer a warm, safe place for students to feel comfortable as they learn and grow. As a teacher at high schools, colleges, and community centers, I have a student-centered style and look for the strengths of each person. I became a teacher to help students enjoy learning, improve their skills, and become stronger and more confident individuals.

I enjoy teaching English as a Second Language, Grammar, Literature, Vocabulary and Writing. It's been my pleasure to teach and tutor teenagers, college students, and learners from all over the world.

A Super Extraordinary Teacher

My daughter is so lucky to meet Elynn, a super extraordinary teacher. The most impressive part of Elynn's teaching is she likes to teach contents using the reactive and heuristic way. My daughter felt a lot of emotion and inspiration from class; she wrote a long creative story about a mysterious planet--with high enthusiasm. Besides, Elynn left enough homework to re-enforce what she taught. Most important, Elynn treats the kids equally and likes to hear what they think and gives them many chances to bring out their own voice. This interactive way of teaching boosts the kids' confidence so they will speak out their opinions and ideas in English.

Good tutor

My daughter is in 4th grade now. She already studied with Elynn a few months in English. So far so good. She really likes her. She always told me that Elynn is super nice and learning is fun with Elynn. Elynn also gave a homework after lesson, I think it is really good, my daughter can review what she learned in the home, I also knew what the Elynn taught her in the class. She is a good tutor, I like to recommend her to my friends.
