I have over 10 years of experience teaching HS math courses in the classroom, from Algebra 1 to IB Mathematics Analysis and Approaches HL. I have taught in public high schools in the US as well as in an international school in China.

In particular, I have over 9 years of experience teaching and tutoring IB math courses. I can support students taking Analysis and Approaches HL & SL (AAHL and AASL) and Applications & Interpretations SL (AI SL).
** Please note that in accordance with the IB guidelines, I will not be able to support students with any part of their IA report process. I can help clarify requirements, but all of the work for IA's need to be done by the student, with approved and appropriate support from their direct teacher. This includes brainstorming topics, checking math calculations, and editing/critiquing the essay.**

I enjoy working with all sorts of students – from the students who are struggling in their classes to students who may be looking for more ways to challenge themselves! I want you to leave our time together not only feeling comfortable with what we covered but also feeling confident that you can attempt new problems on your own. Please note that I primarily work with students who can commit to regular (weekly) lessons – I can better support your academic growth if I am working with you regularly.

A solid algebraic foundation is the key to success for future classes! Prealgebra courses may be courses taken in a sequence before a regular algebra course or a supporting course taken concurrently with a regular Algebra course. I have taught both types of courses and can adjust as necessary to support your math learning journey.

Precalculus may seem like it is significantly harder than your previous algebra courses, but it is just an opportunity to synthesize all of your prior knowledge. Since I have taught Algebra 1 & 2 every year for the last 13 years, I can help strengthen any gaps in algebraic foundations that may be holding you back. I also teach Calculus, so I can help connect your understanding to future topics.
Trigonometry

Trigonometry

I have taught all levels of mathematics from Pre-Algebra to Calculus, so I can support with any depth of trigonometric topics that you may be struggling with. I can help walk you through proving trigonometric identities, solving trigonometric equations, and graphing trigonometric functions. I can also help you with solving trigonometric application questions.
