I am a licensed teacher with a Bachelor’s degree in TESOL and two Master’s degrees in Education, one in Secondary Education and another in Educational Leadership. In addition, I am a United States Marine Corps veteran, which has shaped my ability to bring structure, patience, and discipline into my work with students. My academic and professional background has equipped me to help students strengthen their skills in English, reading comprehension, writing, and test preparation while also building confidence and motivation.
I have taught in both public and private schools, working with students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. My experience includes supporting learners in general education as well as those in special education programs, ensuring that each student receives instruction that meets their unique needs. I have also coached students in preparing for standardized exams such as the SAT and ACT, where I emphasize strategies for time management, reading analysis, and effective writing. In one-on-one sessions, I tailor my approach to the student’s goals, whether improving daily study habits, raising grades, or preparing for college entrance exams.
My tutoring style is student-centered and adaptive. A typical session begins with a short review to check understanding, followed by targeted instruction and guided practice. I use real-world examples, interactive discussion, and step-by-step strategies to make complex concepts easier to master. What sets me apart is my ability to connect with students who may struggle with confidence or motivation, helping them not only improve academically but also develop resilience and independence as learners. My goal is for every student to leave a session feeling more capable, confident, and ready to succeed.
