Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

I have obtained a Bachelor's degree in Psychology, where I have gained knowledge on working with individuals with ADD/ADHD. Additionally, I have worked with a small number of children with ADHD, as a tutor. I believe in an approach to learning that allows individuals, particularly, children room to move and stretch in order to maintain a level of focus that would complete a task.

I was entrusted by teachers to assist students with vocabulary and math, and also to assist in the classrooms with various other subjects. Finally, I led a 2nd grade Challenge ELA group as a volunteer in Dekalb County. I have obtained 3 degrees, where during my undergraduate matriculation, I excelled in various courses in childhood and adolescent psychology, which have helped me to better understand children's learning processes and development.

I currently own and operate my own homeschool business. In my school, I focus on students in grades K-5. Additionally, I have experience in private schools teaching multigrade levels.

I worked for 2 years as a lead pre-schol teacher in Japan, where I had a main focus on teaching young children phonetics to aid in them becoming early readers.
