I tutored at Yale as a graduate student about 300 hr/yr for 5 years, and coordinated the Math & Science Tutoring Program there for 3 years. As a professor at University of Colorado Denver and Research Scientist at MIT, I've taught many college and postgraduate mathematics and science subjects. As a professor at University of Colorado Denver and Research Scientist at MIT, I've taught many college and postgraduate mathematics and science subjects. What I love about tutoring is helping students realize that they already know more and are capable of more than they think, and fostering their confidence and independence.

As a professor at University of Colorado Denver I taught "Calculus II", "Linear Algebra and Differential Equations", "Math Clinic", "Numerical Analysis I", "Quantitative Finance", "Riemannian Geometry", "Tensor analysis and curvature" and "Wavelet Analysis". I know a lot about most college-level and several graduate-level math subjects, especially Data Science & Scientific Computing.

As a professor at University of Colorado Boulder and University of Colorado Denver and a Research Scientist at MIT I taught "Burgers & Navier-Stokes Equations", "Einstein's Field Equations", "Gravitation and Cosmology", "How to Build Numerical Simulations of Multi-Scale Physics" and "Methods of Engineering Analysis". As a student, I was expert in Quantum Mechanics and Classical Mechanics. As a postdoc I specialized in Numerical Methods for Partial Differential Equations.

I still remember what it was like to be a student, so when tutoring I try to put myself back in that position but show how to organize and make use of knowledge, books, notes and online resources to solve problems and build confidence.

My postdoc and 1st job focused on numerical methods, chiefly Finite Elements and Spectral Elements for numerical solution of the Navier Stokes equations. As a Senior Research Geophysicist at Schlumberger, and Research Scientist at MIT I focused on wave dynamics in poroelastic and viscoelastic solids, including anisotropy.
