Hi! I'm Jane, and I love both teaching and tutoring for the personal interactions I have with you. I enjoy helping students understand ideas that may seem complex or abstract. I have fun playing with activities that help you see symbolic notions in more literal or concrete means. I invent analogies all the time to make a correspondence between a concept and everyday, contemporary life. I have many strategies and tools that I can share with you so that you "get it" and keep doing so on your own.

I am a also voracious reader with a great memory for details, and I make connections between pieces of literature with ease. I can help you figure out ways to read for school as opposed to read for pleasure. They aren't the same thing! I write easily and have tons of experience doing so. I have years of experience teaching the writing process, and I'm great at sorting out the reasons you might get stuck.

I have a PhD from the University of Minnesota, a Masters from Baylor University, and a degree in American Studies from University of Notre Dame. Having earned a Ph.D. and written both a Master's thesis and a dissertation, I have lots of experience making sure that writing is error free.
