University of California, Davis (Biotechnology)
Hello! My name is Beatrice, and I am a recent graduate from University of California, Davis, with a degree in biotechnology. I am both experienced and passionate about teaching. I have a very well-rounded education, but my best and favorite tutoring subjects are SAT prep and mathematics.
SAT PREPARATION - I can tutor in all areas of the SAT: reading, writing, and math, or just focus on one subject, if preferred. I understand each section of the exam very well, and I have great methods for teaching them. I know all the techniques and tricks that are vital for success on the SAT. I also know exactly what areas of the exam most high school students tend to have trouble with. I have plenty of testing material, practice exams, and worksheets, so students get the most practice possible. I am confident I can improve your child's scores and help him or her succeed in the SAT!
MATH - I tutor prealgebra, algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, and pre-calculus. Math is not an easy subject, and many students tend to struggle with it. However, understanding the basic concepts is the key to success in math, and I can definitely help your child learn those concepts and improve his or her grades, as well as build confidence in the subject matter.
Don't hesitate to ask about tutoring in other subjects listed below.
Please feel free to contact me if you're interested in tutoring or have questions! I can also provide references from past clients if needed. I look forward to hearing from you! Hello! Beatrice was very helpful with breaking down problems and explaining it step by step. I enjoyed working with Beatrice because she was easy to talk to, very patient and taught me many new skills I can take to my SAT.
My daughters first session was well spend. According to my daughter, Beatrice is patient especially when my daughter was a bit tired from getting home late the night before from her cheerleading event at a football game away from home. Beatrice does not provide the answers to problems. She provided my daughter with clues to allow her to brainstorm out her own answers. My daughter liked this strategy.
Thank you Beatrice for helping my daughter with math and being so very patient. We are lucky to have you!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I've been studying and playing classical piano for 18 years. I've won many competitions and received honors every year in the MTAC Certificate of Merit throughout my four years of high school. I also have a minor in music from UC Davis, which consisted of music history and theory courses, as well as performance credits.
