I’m an English tutor with a BA in English and Literature and an MA in English with a focus in Creative Writing. I've had two years of experience tutoring college-level writing, and two years as an instructional aide supporting high school students, more specially various levels in special education and general education students, with their coursework. This included mainly writing, reading, and comprehension. I also introduced some contamination students to resume building to help prepare for finding jobs after they graduate. I specialize in helping teens and adults strengthen their reading, writing, and essay skills through personalized, supportive lessons. This is done by teaching you in a way that you can understand and prefer to learn rather than a one size-fits all approach.
My goal is to create a comfortable learning environment where students can build confidence, improve their writing, and develop a clear academic voice. I achieve this by encouraging free thinking, guidance in analyses through asking questions, developing ideas, improving grammar, and acting as both teacher and soundboard rather than simply giving the answers to the student. We work together to flesh out your ideas and make your writing stronger. Whether in writing or reading, I aim to make it more understandable, accessible, and build your confidence.
