Bio

If there's something I love more than learning, it is teaching and counseling others. I have years of experience as a camp counselor for kids ages 5-18, three years as instructor in the Air Force, and a number of semesters as a TA in college. My alma mater is the University of Southern California, where I graduated with a dual degree in International Business and Computer Science (Marshall School of Business and Viterbi School of Engineering).

If there's something I love more than learning, it is teaching and counseling others. I have years of experience as a camp counselor for kids ages 5-18, three years as instructor in the Air Force, and a number of semesters as a TA in college. My alma mater is the University of Southern California, where I graduated with a dual degree in International Business and Computer Science (Marshall School of Business and Viterbi School of Engineering).

My teaching style is never just about passing on information, or just the "what". I always expand further and talk about the "why" - why is what I am learning important? How can this be useful? I pass on the same passion and excitement I have for a topic to my pupils, and give them the tools and frameworks they need for self-education. I will teach them "how to fish", rather than just serving them a fish fillet dinner!

I have a robust foundation in mathematics and computer science. What makes me stand out is my ability to illustrate examples through vivid imagery and real life situations. Once my pupil has the image in their mind, it will stay and guide them even when I am not around.

I have successfully taught computer programming, web development and computer science as a teaching assistant at the University of Southern California. This is in addition to industry experience as a software and full-stack engineer. I am well versed in the fundamentals of all the above and have fun interactive ways of teaching these topics.

I have over 14 years of experience with digital design and illustration. I specialize in Adobe's software, particularly Photoshop and Illustrator and have recently mastered Sketch. I'm knowledgeable about the fundamentals of design to contemporary trends and have a wealth of resources to share with students.

I've worked as a software engineer and senior software engineer at a handful of companies now, including running a small agency providing development and consulting services for businesses. Today I work as Head of Product at a startup in Los Angeles, California while leading a team of developers to create my company's platform.
