Anderson University IN (Music Business)
Beginner to Intermediate lessons in voice and piano from a professional singer/songwriter/recording artist with 10 years of training in voice and 12 years of training in piano. I have a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Business from Anderson University (Anderson, Indiana) where I studied voice with Dr. Jeffrey Ballard and piano with Professor Ken Chan.
By taking voice lessons with me, you will increase your vocal range, learn correct breathing methods and healthy practice/warm-up exercises, and gain confidence in your performance skills, all while singing the songs and music styles YOU enjoy.
With piano lessons, you will learn beginner music theory (including scales, chords, time signatures, key signatures, etc.), exercises to increase dexterity, and how to play the songs YOU want to play.
I also earned a minor in Spanish from Anderson University, and have traveled to various Spanish-speaking countries including Spain, Mexico, and Guatemala. I offer Spanish lessons for beginners who need help with class work, or for those wanting to learn the basic fundamentals of the language (vocabulary, grammar, conversation, etc.)
My lessons are fun, yet effective and can be tailored to meet your needs. I look forward to working with you! Leah is wonderful in teaching piano to our six year old son. She is patient and makes the lesson enjoyable for him. He always looks forward to the lessons.
Very patient and worked very well with my son. She will make sure they do their lessons, and wise enough to know if they didnt overall. I give her 5 stars
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
My training and experience in piano includes 7 years of teaching experience and a Bachelor of Arts in Music Business (Anderson University, Anderson, Indiana). I have 10+ years of private study and 2 studio albums professionally produced and recorded under Orangehaus Records (Anderson, Indiana).
My Bachelor of Arts degree includes a minor in Spanish. I have had the chance to speak Spanish with native speakers in counties like Mexico, Spain, Guatemala, and Honduras. I have spent 5 years tutoring Spanish at the beginner level.
I have spent more than 7 years teaching singing. Much of the way I teach is rooted in my experience as a working, professional singer. I've spent 10+ years working as a performer, studio singer, songwriter, recording artist, and back up singer, and have spent time touring nationally and internationally. I also studied singing through high school and college, and feel that I'm able to apply what I've learned in my own lessons to the lessons that I teach.
