Bio

At Eastman School of Music (B.M.), I received extensive training in saxophone performance, music theory, and music history. While attending the elite Frost School of Music at the University of Miami (M.M.), I honed my jazz performance skills with well-renowned teachers and performers. I have recently completed several doctoral courses at the University of Southern California in music education and pedagogy. I have also received a graduate certificate from the University of Southern California...

At Eastman School of Music (B.M.), I received extensive training in saxophone performance, music theory, and music history. While attending the elite Frost School of Music at the University of Miami (M.M.), I honed my jazz performance skills with well-renowned teachers and performers. I have recently completed several doctoral courses at the University of Southern California in music education and pedagogy. I have also received a graduate certificate from the University of Southern California in arts leadership and entrepreneurship.

I have also worked at the Manhattan School of Music as a production assistant and stage manager where opera, theater, and orchestra performances allowed me to elevate, expand, and hone my managing skills and leadership qualities.

I have spent several years learning both jazz and classical music theory and history. My primary instrument is saxophone and I most enjoy playing jazz. I have a good working knowledge of many other music concepts and practices such as: composition, piano, music production, pedagogy, and conducting.

I am passionate about playing and teaching music. I like to teach each student through specific and individualized methods. I believe the most important lessons are ones that inspire a willingness and passion to learn.

Jeff was very helpful with our first lesson.

Jeff really seems like he wants you to "sing through the sax," as he says, and not just be able to get a sound out of it. He started with good basics for a foundation and didn't jump beyond them.

Great Saxophone Instructor. Patient, knowledgeable and did I say patient?

I have always wanted to play the saxophone and because of the "safer at home" shut down I had time to do it. And I am very happy I did. Jeff has been a great teacher for me and he knows what he is talking about. He has so much patience with me and has been very fixable with my schedule. Great guy. I get a chance to hear him play as well - which is worth the money just for that. I would highly recommend Jeff for anyone wanting to start playing or wants to learn more.
