After Graduating top 4 in my class, I am pursuing a math-based degree at the University of California, Los Angeles. During my high school years, I took and scored an A in all of my math classes, including AP Calculus and College Statistics. These classes have helped me to build the foundation needed to understand what students need to succeed at all levels of math on their way to a successful future.
As for previous tutoring and teaching experience, I have spent 3+ years teaching and tutoring. I began my passion for teaching as a teacher's assistant and moved on to become the lead math teacher at a charter school in my area. There, I specialized in 2nd, 6th, and Pre-Algebra level math classes and developed a deep understanding of what it means to be a teacher. Now, I have moved on to a new chapter of my life, where I am pursuing tutoring as a way to continue my passion for helping others grow. As a tutor I value building a strong mathematical foundation in all of my students, and helping them to understand the "why" of math, not just the "how".
Most of my experience has been in teaching elementary level through early high school age, which consists of the most critical times in building one's math foundation. I hope to continue to grow alongside my students, as I watch them succeed and take on new challenges every day.
