Hi, I'm Anthony! I'm a fifth-year PhD candidate at UC Berkeley studying Environmental Engineering. My focus is on the use of engineered wetlands for water treatment. I have a BSE from the University of Iowa in Environmental Engineering with a minor in Mathematics as well as an MS from the University of California, Berkeley in Environmental Engineering. I have experience as both a tutor and an instructor at Berkeley - I have been awarded Outstanding Graduate Student Instructor for my role in teaching Environmental Chemistry at the graduate level. I'm a passionate learner, and I love helping students reach their goals!

My qualification in math stems from my strong grasp of the foundational principles of multiple mathematical fields. I want to help you explore how you can best approach math courses and give you the tools to succeed in any level of math class.
Coursework: AP Calculus, AP Statistics, Calculus I, Calculus II, Multi-Variable Calculus, Vector Calculus, Linear Algebra, Differential Equations, Fluid Mechanics, Engineering Statistics

Chemistry requires a unique approach in academic settings because of its diverse foundation. I have a grasp of a variety of topics in chemistry and can help students understand everything from the basics of the periodic table to the complexities of chemical thermodynamics. I've not only mastered class material, but I have multiple years of experience applying my chemistry knowledge to research on water quality.
Coursework: Principles of Chemistry 1 and 2, Organic Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Water Chemistry, Environmental Physical-Chemical Processes, Solid and Hazardous Wastes

My other qualifications include awards for public speaking, 5+ years of environmental chemistry/engineering research, and successful experience in writing fellowships and applications (multiple federal awards from the NSF and USGS). I would love to help you study for your next math test, give you tips on your chemistry homework, or help you craft upcoming academic applications.

I am a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow, which requires a rigorous personal statement and research project proposal. The GRFP is considered the most prestigious STEM fellowship for post-secondary education. I am also a former Presidential Scholar of the University of Iowa; this is a full-ride scholarship awarded to only 17 students of my incoming class of over 5,000. Through each of these application experiences, I have developed the skills necessary for academic applications spanning a variety of programs and grade-levels.
