My placement in pre-algebra meant I had to take four math courses to fulfill the math course requirement. I would have needed to take pre-algebra, then elementary algebra, then intermediate algebra, and finally college algebra to fulfill the math requirement.

I spent the first week and a half with a tutor but later on traveled back to America to re take my summer courses and one of them was my Algebra II course.

She could tell when I didn't understand something and would come up with different ways of explaining, so that I eventually grasped the concept. I think the deer in the head-lights look was her cue.
