When he runs into words he does't know, he writes them down, looks them up and records the definition. This method helps to increase his vocabulary plus reinforce the meaning when he runs across the word again. They have started working on pronunciation as well. Finding the right book, understanding the language and reading the words correctly all have helped with his comprehension, plus he actually enjoys reading. We no longer have to ask him to get his reading done!
