Hello my name is Ross Hersh and I recently graduated from Metro State College of Denver with a bachelor's degree in history with a 3.8 g.p.a. Although I am well versed in European, American and world history I can also tutor in the following areas: sports such as basketball, football, tennis, geography, chess, poker, Microsoft Word, and computer typing (50 - 60 w.p.m.).
I was an intern at a Mapleton Public School in Northglenn(grades 6 through 12) and became a substitute teacher for math, English, and art as well as assisting teachers with a variety of subjects. I also have or still volunteer for the following organizations and groups: Barack Obama in the last election, a true no kill dog and cat shelter called MaxFund, the Denver Rescue Mission, and smaller non-denominatonal churches feeding the homeless. I have also worked various jobs including a mongolian grill chef, a shift manager at Einstein's Bagels, an HVAC contractor's assistant, and a patient feeder at St. Joseph's Hospital in Denver. My hobbies include sports, reading, movies, and texas hold 'em poker.
It may be or may not be a cliche` but I believe that education does not have to be boring and am willing to do whatever it takes to make the material relatable for the student (doesn't matter what subject it is!). As a tutor it is my responsibility to use the student's personality and knowledge and mold my lesson plans around each individual. This creates a subjective or personal lesson plan that is different for every student and very efficient.
Thank you and looking forward to meeting future tutees!
