My name is Alfred. I live in Denver Colorado.
My Qualifications are:
Physics, Math & Engineering.
I can teach:
- all algebra and trig levels
- all calculus levels
- Differential equations
- Partial differential equations
- Vector analysis
- Fourier analysis
- Complex analysis
- Vector mechanics for engineers
- Dynamics for engineers
I have extensive teaching experience, both on a college level and one-on-one. I have experience tutoring college students, high-school, middle and elementary students.
I hold an MS in electrical engineering, a BS in Physics and a BA in English and Philosophy
My experience has taught me how to be in the student's shoes and how to explain a solution in a manner that is tailored for each individual's specific way of thinking. I try to avoid scientific and mathematical jargon and do make sure that the student understands the meaning of everything that is being said. For instance, I do not casually say the word "polynomial" assuming that everybody knows what that word means. Instead, I explain it in a direct, short and down-to-Earth manner so that next time you hear it you know you are in control.
My job is not to impress you, but to help you see the simplicity behind what most people perceive to be an impossible task. One of the most common responses to my style of teaching is "That is sooo cool; you make it seem so easy". This is a typical response from my college as well as my HS students. Another thing worth mentioning is: I make learning a fun experience and I have always seen impressive progress among my students. I am proud of what I do.
If you need assistance in math, physics or even engineering, let me know.
Thank you for your attention.

He showed me a totally new way to set up the equations which was so much easier, efficient and better than the way I had been doing them. Using this new way helps me view the problem much more systematically and to know exactly what to do to solve them. Since I am on a tight budget, he was able to help with extreme efficiency so that I was able to grasp it within my hour long time constraint. Alfred is also really patient and friendly, has a great sense of humor and knows his stuff. I HIGHLY recommend him for help with all math.
Alfred tutored my son in physics. He helped him understand and see physics in a different way. Alfred made him realize that physics wasn't as hard as he thought. See the smile on my son's face after the tutoring was priceless. Thank you Alfred!
Alfred and I worked on calculus for my high school test. I felt like some of the problems that we worked on Alfred made it more difficult than it had to be but other then that he was patient and knowledgeable.
Incredibly intelligent and very helpful!! He was able to instantly jump in and provide help where needed. I would work with him again any time!
Alfred worked with me on Geometry and he really explained things the way I needed to learn them. It seemed so easy when he explained how to do the problems.
Alfred arrived on time, took the time to understand the needs/goals, and reviewed some of the basics to gain understanding of where my son was in his learning. The session went very well and his teaching style complimented my son's learning style. My son felt much more comfortable with the material and certainly much more confident in his understanding of the material. Definitely recommend Alfred for IB Calculus.
Alfred helped me study for my calc test on integration. He showed me simple ways to figure out the problems with inverse trig, u substitutions, and other methods. Definitely would recommend him as a tutor! He has also helped me with my AP physics class before.
Alfred helped me review for my final. I learned so much from him in our one hour. Because of him, I feel more prepared for my test.
Thank you for taking the time to write this encouraging feedback.
You are a smart young man and I have confidence you will do well in your academic career.
Alfred helped me review for a calc 2 exam. He is very talented and patient. I would recommend him to anyone preparing for an exam or quiz! I received a 98% on my midterm after reviewing with Alfred!
Alfred is a great tutor! He helps me not understand the complicated laws of physics and apply them to work.
Alfred is a great math tutor. It was an honor to work with him, and I highly recommend him.
Alfred provided Physics and Calculus tutoring for our high school student. Alfred was attentive in listening to the things that my son was struggling with and spent quality time helping him work through different concepts. He has a great way of explaining things so that they make sense. He's very responsive and setting up session time was easy. We'll definitely continue working with Alfred and highly recommend him!
Alfred was excellent. Very helpful, fun and friendly. Also VERY accommodating. I would definitely recommend him to all students who need a tutor!
My son has been bored with the math he is doing in school so we wanted someone passionate about math to introduce more advance concepts to him. He is enthused again and can't wait for the next session!
As always, Alfred explained the AP Physics material in an easy to understand manner with relevant examples and insight. Love him!
Alfred has been a big help to me on all sessions together. I enjoy working with him and getting to know him as well. I look forward to our future sessions together and really appreciate his efforts. Thanks.
Thanks for the great help Alfred. Convenient, knowledgeable, patient and overall very helpful to my daughter. Easy to reach and communicate with.
Thank you very much for helping my grandson. He needed someone with the experience and knowledge of calculus with Physical science. Mr. Alfred was very knowledgeable and patient with my grandson. We greatly appreciated the time he gave to him.
He got a 29 in ACT math. and average 29 too. Thank you so much, is been such a pleasure for him, can't believe he skipped mother's day to have a math class on Sunday! As you know he hopes to get a better grade next opportunity to do an ACT. But that is him, has to get the best grades or is not happy. I am very pleased.
I don't know how much longer the classes will go on because the year is almost over. but we for sure will recommend you as a Great Teacher!. God bless and keep up the great work.
Alfred certainly seems to have profound understanding of the subject matter (calculus-1) or at least that's the immediate impression I got from the first lesson session.
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
I was born in Israel and studied Arabic throughout my school years; from elementary school through high school I read and studied Arabic history, poetry both classic and modern, literature, fiction and much more. Throughout my school years I wrote essays in Arabic and have practiced the spoken language with native Arabic speakers from different countries. Thus, I know different dialects and different accents. I have even studied classical Arabic which embodies the most accurate grammatical rules of the language and reflects the social values of Arab communities living in the distant past. Arabic is a rich language overflowing with imagery; it lends itself easily to rhyme and poetic as well as prose writing.
Differential-Equations is a field I have dealt since my freshman years. My majoring in physics made it inevitable for me to become increasingly good at the subject matter. Building a differential equation is a major step in creating a mathematical model for a physical system, be it mechanical, electrical, biological, ecological, economic or anything else; it is a step that requires insight into the nature of the system. Solving a differential equation, which is what the topic of Differential Equations is about requires training, experience and the ability to identify patterns and structures, such as quadratic forms, which a technique encountered in solving second-order differential equations.
I have used differential equations extensively in both physics problems and engineering problems. I have helped a lot of students taking differential equations and have built enough experience allowing me to handle the subject matter with sufficient expertise. In addition to the above, I have passion for the subject.
Geometry has been a favorite science subject since high-school; in fact it has been one of my strongest points too. I have always found a robust understanding of geometry extremely useful (and even indispensable) in physics, engineering, calculus and almost every mathematical discipline. I have been teaching geometry not only as a subject in its own right but also as part of the calculus series and other calculus-based subjects. I have also learned how to how in the student's shoes, which gives me an edge as a geometry teacher.
