As a lifelong learner, I am passionate about helping others achieve a deep understanding of any subject matter, building their confidence, and giving them the tools to write their own success.
Throughout my life, I have tutored and mentored, from middle and high school, to working formally as a TA at Carnegie Mellon University (for Mathematical Foundations of Electrical Engineering). Outside of academic tutoring, I have worked as a sailing instructor, teaching to a wide range of age and skill levels. Additionally, I volunteer as a mentor on UStrive, helping students with their college applications.
With a strong foundation in mathematics and science, I can tutor a wide range of subjects, from elementary school math, through calculus and linear algebra. I can also help out with test prep (SAT, GRE), college applications, and essays, as I have a track record of being accepted to multiple selective colleges, including Carnegie Mellon, Duke, Cornell, Emory, Georgia Tech, UT Austin, University of Virginia, and University of Chicago. Having worked in the insurance industry for a F500 firm, I can also help with resume writing, interview prep, and career advice.
My focus is on building skills and intuition for learners, taking a patient and disciplined approach to problem solving, and giving them the tools they need to succeed on their own.
I'm looking forward to connecting!
