About Julie:

I went back to school at UT in Austin in 1987 to earn my teacher's certification with a specialization in reading. I tutored reading in my home while I was going to school. After completing the coursework and student teaching I was offered and accepted a job at the school where I had done my student teaching - Buda Elementary in Buda, TX. I taught 5th grade there for 6 years until we moved to Mesa, AZ. In Mesa I substituted in grades K-6 for a year and then accepted a job with the Tempe Elementary School District teaching 5th grade. I taught there for 3 years. After that my husband and I ran our own business for a number of years. We closed the business two years ago and I have been self-employed as a bookkeeper and employed by H&R Block during the tax season. I would like to start working with children again and am most interested in helping children in grades 2-5 with reading, writing and math skills.
