I believe that a good tutor gets to know their student and understands what THEIR problems are and attends to them instead of just trying to hammer all the concepts into their head. In my experience, even the most abstract mathematical or scientific concepts can be learned by anyone, you just need to understand what they are doing and why. I think my two main strengths as a tutor are my ability to impart this understanding using visual aids and analogies, and my ability to break down complex problems to simple and easy ones. I am great at organizing problems in a way that makes them become easy, and I can teach you how to do it too. Please contact me if you need help understanding your math or science class!

Kelly is a Godsend

My son recently changed schools and went from a patient teacher that explained concepts to a pompous PhD that refused to give any explanation outside of his power points. Hayden was stuck on vectors and when he was finished with his session, he was so excited that he understood what was going on. 180 degree turn in my son, thank you so much Kelly!!!! You have a loyal new student!

Dr. Kelly is superb

My daughter needed help with an Anatomy & Physiology class at a 4-year college. I have very high expectations in everything. My children attended a top-rated, college prep high school and have worked with great tutors. Anatomy & Physiology is a challenging class but Dr. Kelly helped my daughter see the big picture amongst so much information. Dr. Kelly is superb because he does much more than simply tutor the subject. He is calm, patient, dedicated, clear, encouraging, supportive, professional. In addition to his expertise in the subjects, he taught my daughter strategies on how to study for the class effectively and how to prepare for tests. His summaries of the tutoring sessions are detailed and outstanding. Even one session with him will help tremendously. From a mom who is difficult to impress, I highly recommend him as a tutor.

Dr. Kelly is fantastic!

I've never been able to find someone who truly cared, was skilled enough to identify challenges and provided tools to help my son overcome his tough situation with Honors Algebra 3/4. Much of it was self doubt and confidence - elements my son's teachers simply did not care about or want to touch. I am so thankful that I made the right investment with Dr. Kelly and Wyzant. My son walked out of session last night with a smile on his face and said, "Mom, I think I might ace the final"!!!!! From the mouth of a young man who has a failing grade currently. I have never heard those words. I was so thrilled with this blessing - not even about the grade. It's everything else. I will continue to invest in Dr. Kelly for my family and I strongly encourage other families to learn from this - you get what you pay for. Your education is on the line and that's worth trusting Dr. Kelly!

Very patient and overall great tutor!

I was struggling with anatomy and physiology II and Kelly helped explain the topics in a way that made sense. I had to do well on the final in order to do well in the class, Kelly went over the topics that he thought were important. If it wasn't for Kelly I would not have passed my class. He is very reliable and also accommodates to your schedule. If you're looking for a tutor in the Tempe area, pick Kelly! You won't regret it!

Great tutor!

Kelly is the reason I passed my physics class. I had never taken physics before and I didn't have the best teacher. Kelly took the time to go over every lesson and re teach me the material in a way that I understood. He was great at explaining the step by step process of solving equations and explaining concepts using real life examples for better comprehension. I have a difficult schedule to work around and he made the time to meet with me every week. I would recommend him to any of my friends and family.
