About

Currently, I am a senior at the University of Minnesota, majoring in physics. I have been tutoring on and off for a few years, and have 400+ hours of tutoring experience. The subjects I have the most experience with are physics, calculus, and precalculus; however, I am also experienced in tutoring any math before precalculus (algebra I and II, geometry, trigonometry), high school chemistry, SAT Math, and bassoon (yes, not the same topic, I just thought I'd throw that in there).
My teaching style generally involves asking questions that tend toward a deeper understanding of the subject matter. I also am a fan of pictures, diagrams, and practical examples--anything that will get the student to "see" the problem and the process with which to solve it. This style is meant to prepare students for "trick" problems on examinations, as well as lead them toward more successful independent study.
On a more personal note, I also enjoy music, rock climbing, and swing/salsa dancing. |
