As a primary teacher, I regularly incorporated phonics into my reading, writing, and spelling instruction. I am fluent in many phonics curricula and approaches to teaching reading.

ESL/ESOL

As a classroom teacher I have worked with many students for whom English was a second language. I made accommodations and differentiated the curriculum to give them the needed support and foundation for learning the language in the context of school and friendships. I also have experience tutoring elementary through middle school ESL students, offering assistance with vocabulary, grammar, and social skills.

ADD/ADHD

During my 10+ years teaching in an elementary classroom and 3 years tutoring, I have taught many students who had an ADD/ADHD diagnosis. I was so good with these children in the classroom that those students were specially placed in my room. I offered them the right balance of structure and flexibility as well as deeply engaging and motivating lessons.

Dyslexia

As an elementary teacher, I have taught students with a diagnosis of dyslexia. I have also participated in professional development for educators that outlined what dyslexia is and is not, and how to adjust the curriculum to ensure their success. You can buy one of our standard 5, 10 or 15% packages or customize your own package based on how much tutoring you need. The credit you purchase can be used towards any tutor at any time and does not expire. If you do not use the entire package, we will simply deduct what you did spend on tutoring from your original purchase price and give you a refund. Discount packages start as low as $190.
