My approach goes beyond grammar and structure. I ask the questions that pull out what's actually worth saying, the narrative thread you didn't know was there. Clients describe the process as collaborative, probing, and surprisingly personal. One recent law school applicant said she felt confident about her final draft for the first time, and that I helped her find an angle she never would have thought of on her own.

I also work with non-native English speakers on graduate and professional school applications.

Articulate & Meticulous Writing Tutor

Working with Philip on my medical school applications was a gratifying experience! He helped make my writing more coherent, and helped me to articulate stories that I never knew would have such an impact in telling my story. In the writing process, he diligently took notes on my stories and asked pointed questions about my experiences to make sure that my voice was never lost. He took time to learn about the expectations necessary for the medical admissions requirements and made sure to check off all the necessary requirements throughout the process. Amazing personal statement for a law school application!!!

I reached out to Philip to edit my personal statement for law school. Through probing I went in a different direction. I am 100% glad I did.
