Good question. You will want a degree in Special Education first and foremost since you want to work with unique students who are non-verbal. Then you would want to either double major or at least minor in ASL. Keep in mind that not all non-verbal students will become proficient communicators even in ASL. Nonetheless, ASL can and will be a powerful communication tool for them.
