To understand the what aspects of African American legacy were enduring from their 1920s talents and skills you would need to what those skills were.
The Harlem Renaissance was an explosion of culture through creation in arts like jazz, poetry, painting, acting, and even to a limited extent film. In all of these art forms the artist attempted to combat racism by displaying racial pride. The question then is do African Americans do this today? If so how?
All of these experiences occurred in urban areas. What advantage did this give to African Americans that weren’t available in the South? Since so many blacks moved North during the great migration, how did it affect Northern cities?
