Consistency is Key
The price per acre is $120,700.
I moved the decimal in 1.45 two decimal spaces to the right. Then, I divided 145 into $175,000. This gave me 1206.89. So we move back the decimal two decimal spaces to the right. We get $12.07. So if it costs $12.07 per .01 acres, we move over the decimal two spaces over to the right from .01 and 12.07. We get 1 times 1207 which is 1207. We now move the decimal spaces four spaces to the right from 1207 and then we get 120,700. To check that this is correct for one acre, we take the remaining .45 acres and multiply by $12.07 and we get 5.4315. Now move over 4 decimal spaces to the right and we get $54,315. 120,700+54,315 is 175,015, which is approximately 175,000.
