use the quadratic formula

w = 6/8 + (1/8)sqr(36+16(250))

= (6+ 63.45)/8=69.45/8= 8.68 inches wide

L=34.73-6= 28.73 inches Long

unless you meant Perimeter = 250 = 2(L+W)

then L+W = 125 = 4w-6+w= 5w -6

5w = 131

w = 26.2 inches wide

L = 4(26.2)-6 = 104.8-6 = 98.8 inches Long
