The number of girls in Marvin's class exceeded the number of boy by 11. If there were 37 pupils in the class, how many were girls and how many were boys?

Number of Boys = B

Number of Girls = B + 11

Total number of pupils = Boys +Girls: B + B+ 11 = 37

2B + 11 = 37

2B = 26

B= 13

Boys =13

Girls = 13 + 11 = 24
